I love this challenge, immediately I thought of my son who recovered remarkably from brain surgery he had two months ago and also my mom who is a 4 year breast cancer survivor. I'm going to step for all of them until I can't step no more! :)

NancyMAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6352428578437914763.post-31066187811319986182012-03-10T13:21:37.465-08:002012-03-10T13:21:37.465-08:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6352428578437914763.post-76666211531913876312012-03-10T05:55:37.812-08:002012-03-10T05:55:37.812-08:00Jesse,

Even if I can't get in steps, I will figure out something else I CAN do. I am having trouble picking one person to walk in honor of, so I will be walking in honor of a few. 1: My best friend who died of cancer at the age of 32 in December 2008, 8 weeks after her first child was born. #2: My friend Esther, a 60 year old disabled woman who lost her husband to a drunk driver in 2009 and is raising her 26 year old autistic son at home. Esther is suicidal because her life has been difficult to say the least and she desperately misses her soul mate. I've been reaching out to her, but I will participate in her honor as well. #3: My Grandfather who was my "Dad", passed away at age 51 after an aortic hemorrhage in 1986. He would've been 77 in January. Instead of celebrating my Birthday (23rd) with loads of cake, I will celebrate by being active in some form for this challenge on your Dad's Birthday.Chrisihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03219892062264629281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6352428578437914763.post-16844979111051596652012-03-09T13:15:49.139-08:002012-03-09T13:15:49.139-08:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6352428578437914763.post-21146030988382571132012-03-09T12:50:10.472-08:002012-03-09T12:50:10.472-08:00Eureka, Anonymous! ;DEureka, Anonymous! ;DNikdanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16244332723736435000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6352428578437914763.post-76442041674117956952012-03-09T12:26:12.028-08:002012-03-09T12:26:12.028-08:00Exercise is fun! I know when I don't I get grouchy...lol it may sound funny or odd, but it's true...exercise makes you feel good mentally & emotionally & if it makes you look good - well that's just a plus! I have to do something everyday...whether it's a nice hike on the beach or working on my little ranch or even yoga/pilates. Thanks Jesse for the blog & sharing your personal goals - I will be walking for your Dad, my Dad, my Nana & my Uncle. We've lost some very special people in our lives too soon to enjoy them more. Life is short, enjoy each day with a smile, good friends and of course family. Carpe Diem! :) KristineAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6352428578437914763.post-60239539973837072682012-03-09T11:25:36.614-08:002012-03-09T11:25:36.614-08:00Jesse,

This past Feb. 16th, was one year since he has passed. He would been 52 this year in May. My Dad was an adventurer and adrenaline seeker: a big wave surfer, speed snowboarder, skater, artist, gamer, my best friend, you name it. In the last two years of my Dad's life he became disabled and unable to walk without assistance. Additionally, upon becoming wheelchair bound, he also began and eventuality lost most of his sight. He would remind me, how lucky I was still having what many take for granted. In honor of my father on Sunday, March 25th, I will walk for him as far as I can go, while reflecting on appreciating things I may take for granted. And also, in honor of your Father's birthday! I will walk in honor of both them.Nikdanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16244332723736435000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6352428578437914763.post-42801336040605477562012-03-09T11:08:50.191-08:002012-03-09T11:08:50.191-08:00Hmm.....let's see...24 hours....100,000 steps ...Hmm.....let's see...24 hours....100,000 steps (roughly 50 miles)....if you take tiny strides it might be less mileage...

Start at 12:01 a.m. every hour walk 2 miles...rest for remaining period. Yup...that should do it. If you run some, you have more time to rest.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6352428578437914763.post-6089200576864460362012-03-09T10:59:42.953-08:002012-03-09T10:59:42.953-08:00Count me in, Jesse. I can't imagine doing that much and I like to walk. When I walk I am usually going some place, like shopping or it's a beautiful day and I can't help myself. I have foot pain from to time that doctors have failed to diagnose for the past five years, it stops me from walking period. So although I am participating, it has to be in my way. I like doing this and it is a challenge for me to try to walk, dance etc as long as I can, each day. If you read this thanks for helping.Alessanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04609546961091601685noreply@blogger.com
