Sunrise and Sunset Around the World Day 2016

For the last several years I have hosted an event called "International Sunrise and Sunset Around the World Day."

Each year 1000's of people from all over the world share a picture of the sunrise and/or sunset from wherever they are.  The event is amazing because there is such a strong sense of community and connection shared by the participants.

In 2010 my best friend Paul, created a charity called Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW), to help people affected by natural disasters.  You can learn all about ROWW by clicking here.

Sadly, in late 2013, Paul was killed.  I was moved to do something that would both honor him and help raise money for Reach Out WorldWide.

International Sunrise and Sunset Around the World Day was moved to its' permanent home on September 12th and became a birthday celebration for Paul along with a fundraiser for ROWW.

I am proud to report that our global efforts last year resulted in more than 3,000 sunrise and sunset photos being shared along with well over $50,000 being raised for Reach Out WorldWide.

If you did not see last year's video, click here.

On Monday September 12th, I'll be hosting this amazing event again and I would love for you to be a part of it

Never Ever Give Up

We have all heard the phrase "never give up," thrown around so much that it almost sounds cliche.

The problem is that people with the best of intentions and ambitions say it, encourage it, like the idea of it, but fail to follow through with it.  This lack of follow through sadly robs many people from the power that resides in this simple phrase, "Never Give Up."

I often think about what all of our lives could be like if we never gave up on our dreams.

The video below is about 15 minutes long and easily one of the best talks I have heard in recent memory on this very important subject.

The speaker is an expert on "Never Giving Up," and persevering when others long doubted that she could accomplish her dreams.

Please do yourself a favor and watch the video below.  As you do, listen very carefully to her words.  Notice the obstacles she was up against, notice how hard she had to work, and notice the insight she has to share at the end.

As you watch, ask yourself, "What am I am willing to go after, what am I willing to pursue to see come to fruition?  What can my life become if I adopt and embody the mantra: "Never Give Up."

Carpe Diem,

Jesse

Your Time is a Gift

I have been thinking a great deal about "time" the last few weeks.  I find it amazing that so many of us, myself included, repeatedly squander this most precious of resources.

It is one of the great ironies of our existence - when we are alive we always seem to be in a hurry; always wanting the time to pass.  We future pace ourselves so we can get to the next item on our agenda, the next vacation, the next day off from work, the next big event, and so on.

Yet when we are at the end of our lives we inevitably wish we had more time.  Why?

If only we could adopt that end of life perspective now, in the present, so that we can truly treasure each moment for the gift that it is.

How much would that perspective shift change our lives?
I once gave a speech for a Toastmasters competition.  My speech was on time.  The below is a recording of one of my practice sessions.  I share this video with you in hopes that the message contained within connects with you and inspires you to make the most of your time.
Carpe Diem,

Jesse

If after watching this video you find yourself with wanting to make better use of your time and eliminate some of the things that are holding you back in life, you and I must talk!

The Power in Finishing What You Start

If I have been reminded of anything this last week it is just how fragile life is.  None of us are guaranteed a tomorrow, the only thing we have for certain is right now - this very moment!

And this moment you are in is a precious one, one that you should make every effort to treasure.

With tomorrow not guaranteed it is of utmost importance that you leave nothing to chance that you give it your absolute best today because you may not get the opportunity to later.

On that same note... so often in life we begin on projects, ideas, goals, ambitions, yet we never see them to completion.  Why?  Why do we not finish the things we were so excited about when we started?  Why is it that when things get tough, an obstacle arises, we give up instead of pushing forward?

This time of year is a notorious "give up" time.  It is the time so many say "the heck" with it and justify their decision by saying "well when January rolls around that is when I will really focus on X, Y, and Z."

January is not promised and because of that little fact about life it is imperative that you make it a priority, now, to finish what you start.

In this short video below I talk about how important this is and why not completing something can lead to a lifetime of setbacks and unfulfilled dreams.

Your life is to short and to precious not to live it at your absolute best.  If you find yourself coming up short at the finish line, or unable to push through the barriers that are holding you back, then you and I should talk.  I'll help you get there!

To set up a time to meet with me, click the link here, fill out the shot form, and pick a time that works best for you.  It's that simple.

Looking forward to you finishing what you start.

Carpe Diem,

Jesse
