Three Ways to Instantly Become More Passionate About Life

Passion...

A word that when you hear it you want what is the source of it.

We see people throughout life who have "it." The "it" they have is passion.

Whether it is in their relationship, their career, their family, or just how they interact with life; there is no mistaking a passionate person.

The big myth about passion is that it is reserved only for those who were born with it; meaning you either won the genetic lottery and have it, or you don't.

Nothing could be further from the truth for passion is not something you are born with, it is something you create. And who doesn't want to create more passion in their life?

As fate would have it, you are a born creator - born to create an emotional experience that brings you joy and fulfillment every day of your life.

Unfortunately most of us are not taught these tools in school - after all we have other, more important things to focus on like The symbolism of the green light at the end of the pier in "The Great Gatsby," (Why can't the light just be green?).

Recently I hosted a training where I shared three ways you can instantly become more passionate about life.  You can watch that training below.  These ways are simple strategies that anyone can do, but to do them will require you to step up to the plate of life and command more from yourself than you have before.

I hope the training was of value to you.

Let me know in the comments below.

As always if I can be of any help on your journey, you can let me know by contacting me here.

Eliminating Your Stinking Thinking

Hi!

Our mindset matters!

You have likely heard some of the expressions:

"What you think about you bring about."

"Energy flows where attention goes."

"Thoughts become things."

And so on...

All of them are true!

The way we experience our external "reality" begins with our internal mindset.

One of the biggest obstacles we face in mastering our mindset is when we get caught up in the "Stinking Thinking" mentality.

You may know how that goes... negative thought enters in, which triggers another negative thought, then eventually emotions, then finally actions or inactions (I call this the Stinking Thinking Avalanche which I discuss in detail in the training below).

To help you out with this, I hosted a free training on defeating the Stinking Thinking.

You can access the training below (note you can fast forward to about the 7 minute mark as that's when the actual training begins).

I host these free Weekly Wisdom training's typically on Thursdays around 3pm PST on my Facebook page.

You would like to sign up to get email reminders as well as some bonus content related to the Weekly Wisdom training's you can do that by click here.

What was your biggest take away from this training? Please let me know in the comments below.

Why you need to be working with a coach

Hi all,
I thought I would write a short article about the coaching industry and some of the benefits of working with a coach.
I hope this is of value to you and something you can use to help propel your life forward.
The coaching industry has exploded in the last 10 years! The most recent report I read estimates that there are currently over 50,000 people, worldwide, who are earning an income as some sort of coach.

What is perhaps even more amazing is that the revenue generated from the coaching industry is now well over $2 BILLION!
One of the biggest driving forces in this rapidly growing industry has been corporate coaching... essentially where more and more organizations are hiring coaches to help them develop their employees and get them to operate at peak performance which is very good for any companies bottom line.
Coaching is a key asset to help employees thrive under rapidly changing business environments and always evolving corporate cultures. It does this by providing essential skills, support, and strategies to optimize employee performance independent of external circumstances.
Coaching is an unique process for each individual who participates in it. The focus is often on gaining a clear understanding of the "coachee's goals', overcome any mental/emotional barriers that may pose a challenge to achieving those goals, and developing forward progressing action steps.
The reason why organizations and individuals are investing in coaching... 86% saw a return on the initial investment they made in coaching. Over 96% of those said they would do the process again if given the opportunity!

The obvious tangible returns on investment are things like increased income earned, increased productivity, and higher retention of employees.  There are also many intangible benefits that come with coaching some of them are: improved relationships, stronger communication strategies, more confidence  in themselves as individuals and as employees.
Coaching has such a high success rate because a unique bond is formed between the coach and coachee.  Imagine having a person in your life whose sole role is to help you cut through the "BS" get crystal clear on what it is you want to accomplish and focus solely on helping you achieve that while simultaneously being happy and fulfilled in life.

If the coachee ever finds them-self "stuck," (which we all do from time to time) the coach will help them quickly shift out it and engage with new behaviors that propel them forward.
I hope this gives you a little more clarity on the coaching profession.

If this has inspired you to look at yourself and ask, "Would working with a coach be beneficial to me?" then I highly encourage you to look into it.
Otherwise do some research as there are a lot of amazing coaches out there.
If you have any questions at all, please leave them in the comments.

3 Steps You Can Take to get to The Next Level

There is one person and one person only that holds the power to take your life to the next level and that is you.

Life isn't like a Mario Brothers video game where you can just find a magic power up and level up in life.

To get to the next level requires 3 things from you:

1.) A decision - you must decide that it is no longer acceptable to continue on as you have. You must draw your line in the sand and decide that from this day forward you are going to live life at a new level.

2.) A commitment - you must commit to playing a bigger game. You must commitment to beginning a new journey and traveling a path few have ever traveled before. You must commit to remaining on the path and acquiring the tools/skills necessary to travel this path. This path will not be free from obstacles or challenges so you must commit to facing them as they arise.

3.) Implementation and Effort - no one said it would be easy, but the destination will be worth the effort it takes to get there. Learn, implement, learn, implement, learn, implement, adjust, refine, learn, and implement more.

If you stick with it your efforts will yield what you seek.

You hold the power.

Today can be the day you begin to take your life to the next level.

Jesse

Five Reasons Why You Fail to Achieve Your Goals

It has been conclusively proven time and time again that goal setting leads to goal achieving.

Countless studies have shown that taking the additional steps of writing down your goals, sharing them with someone else, and creating a deadline to accomplish them also enhances the likelihood of them being accomplished.

With so much success science available on the importance of goal setting, why is it still that so many people still fail to achieve their goals?

If you are someone, or you know someone, who has goals, but at times struggles to achieve them, then you want to watch this training on "The Five Reasons Why You Fail to Achieve Your Goals," I put together for you.

In it I share with you Five of the main reasons why people fail to achieve their goals.  If you take the neccessary steps to stop yourself from doing these five things then you will be fast tracking yourself on a path to goal achievement .

Four Steps to Create Immediate Positive Change

Every day I talk with amazing people from all over the world.  And every day, without fail, I speak with at least one person that says "Jesse I would love to make more positive changes, but I don't know how."

Is that you?

Or

If you are doing awesome at life (YAY you), could you make one or two key positive changes that would would elevate your life from awesome to even more awesome?

Whether you are struggling to figure things out or you are on cruise control - I have yet to meet an honest person who doesn't have at least one positive change they would like to make.

Positive changes in our lives lead to positive results experienced not only by us, but often the people we care about the most.  After all, when we are at our best then we often show up and bring our best to the table when we are spending time with our main people.

Because positive change is so important, I recently hosted a Facebook Live training sharing four steps that anyone can take right away to create immediate change.  You can watch that training by clicking here. Or click the video below.

I encourage you to watch the entire training, but if you are short on time and want to get the main bullet points right now, here they are:

Change Your State

Whether it is our mental or emotional state - our thoughts and feelings will dictate the quality of our lives.  Here's a video I put together on Mastering Your Mindset.

Connect to Your Why

Our "why" is our greatest source of inspiration/motivation/determination for why we do what we do.  If you are struggling to accomplish something or not following through on your goals it is likely because you aren't connecting to your "why."  Here's a great video about your "why."

Utilize a Mentor

The simplest way I can explain the role a mentor/coach can have in your life is to help you get from where you are to where you want to be as fast, safe, efficient, and effectively as possible.  There is no need to lose days, weeks, months, even years of your life banging your head against the wall in frustration because you are unable to produce the results you want.  Tap into the awesome resources of a coach.  If you want to learn more about coaching services that I offer you can check those out here.

Take Action

Nothing changes if we do not take action to change things.  Click here to watch a video I recorded about making the decision to choose an action of action.

I hope you found value in this blog.  Leave me a comment below and let me know your thoughts.

Until next time...

In the short video below, I explain the key to achieving Olympic level success in any aspect of your life.

Here is to you achieving at new levels.

Lessons Learned from 9 Years of Entrepreneurship

Hi!

Recently I hit a milestone professionally and I as I was reflecting back on it, I thought there were a few insight worth sharing.

September 3rd marked my ninth year of becoming an entrepreneur and making the decision to work for myself. Nine years, I cannot believe that!  I still vividly remember the day I walked out of my job as an employee for the last time. It was feeling that was both scary and liberating at the same time.

I remember waking up the next day and one of my first thoughts was: "Now what?"

In the nine years since my career has been filled with ups, downs, lefts, and rights.  I have traveled the world and have spent many a long days/nights/weeks/months in my bedroom or office trying to push things forward.

Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart, but I promise you this, if you heart is filled with a message to share with the world, and you are willing to be bold and ride the waves of uncertainty, there is nothing better, in my opinion, than calling your own shots, setting your own schedule, being your own boss, and walking your own path through life.

Lessons learned

Do it because you are passionate about it:

Life is way to short to do it for any other reason. No matter how long my days are or how much frustration may enter into them (yes I get frustrated and even pissed off at times) there is nothing else I would rather do.  Ask yourself this: at the end of your life would you rather sit on a mountain of money, but feel empty inside, or would you rather sit on a couple coins, but be filled with happiness, joy, and a ton of amazing memories? Pursue your passion and life will deliver.

It ain't easy:

As the saying goes, "If it were everyone would do it."  Lots of long days that meld into long nights. You often learn that just because you think you have a great idea doesn't mean everyone else does.  Restless nights, take out, paperwork scattered everywhere, odd hours, saying "no" to going out and hanging with friends, and instead saying yes to waking up early (7 days a week).  But heck, the time will pass anyways, right, so why not invest that time in the pursuit of what you truly want.

Make sure you have a strong stomach and are prepared for the swings:

I silly-ly (when you walk your own path you get to make up your own words) thought that I was going to be running the "Field of Dreams" of Personal Training (when I first started out) and Life Coaching Services.  "If I built it they would come," welllllll it doesn't always happen exactly like that.  At first you are often playing for an empty ball park, and while it may not be the most desirable outcome at the time, you know what, something magical happens when your customers do start showing up.  You learn to appreciate them that much more.  Not every season will be a winning season, the loses make you much more appreciative of the wins.

Put yourself out there:

One thing is for sure, nothing will happen if you do not share your gift with the world.  I long ago had the idea in my mind that I wanted to become a speaker and use my voice to share my message with the world.  The problem: I never had really spoken publicly or on video.  When my first website was set up (the original http://www.jessebrisendine.com ) I decided no better way to kick off my quest to become a speaker than to slap a video on my website for the whole world to see. I have now dug this video up (see below) to share with you.  We all start somewhere...

Believe in yourself:

In anything you do there will likely be skeptics and critics.  Something I learned early on is to always ask myself: "Does this person (the person who is doubting me) have everything in their life they want in this particular area?" 99.999999% of the time the answer was NO.  Often people will cast shade on what you are pursuing because you have the courage to pursue something they want, but are too scared to go after.  There will be doubters and naysayers along any path worth traveling.  Listen to them, you will never get to where you want to go.  Listen to your internal compass and it will lead you to your destination.

Learn to embrace people telling you "No."

We all are in "sales." Some of us may not directly negotiate a price, ask for a fee, or shake hands over a deal, but we are all "selling" ourselves all the time. I'm on the side where I offer services and for people to utilize those services they pay a fee to me.  In those exchanges (a customer has the opportunity to invest money in a service I provide) I have been told No far more than I have been told Yes. I won't lie, the initial No's hurt, but if you allow them to, they get exciting really fast because every "No," brings you one step closer to a "Yes." Keep pushing forward in-spite of the "No's," the "Yes's" need you!

Celebrate the little wins:

Often when we begin something new we want to hit a home run right out of the gate and given the choice between a home run and a single, who wouldn't choose the home run?  The home run is what brings the crowd to their feet, it is what makes the highlight reel on Sportscenter.  Life isn't always a home run, sometimes it is just stepping up the plate and giving your best effort. You won't always be at a 100%, but you can always give 100% of whatever you got that day.  When you step up to the plate don't swing for the fences every time, step up with the intention to give your best.  When you do that, celebrate the effort, take a breath, and evaluate how you can improve.

Life is to short not to go after what you want:

See above about Passion.  We have all heard it before and it is worth hearing again "Life is to short to be miserable."  If the work you do does not fulfill you, if the relationship you are in leaves feeling empty, if you go to bed a night dreading the alarm clock in the morning, something needs to change.  Your life is precious, you would not be here if that wasn't the case.  Treat your life like the treasure it is and you will find a world of wonder waiting for you.  Make the changes you know you need to make, life is to short not to.

Have a plan, but most importantly be prepared to work hard:

When I began working for myself I had a vague (at best) plan.  The plan consisted of crunching a few numbers and me showing up.  What I have learned is the best laid plans will often encounter challenges and no well laid plan will ever be a substitute for a relentless work ethic. Plans help with efficiency and give you guidance as to how to best focus your efforts, but at the end of the day nothing gets things done like an unbreakable work ethic.  When things get dirty, be prepared to roll up your sleeves and dive in.

Even as I type, I have more memories, ideas, and thoughts I could share with you, but I think I will save those for later and instead leave you with this:

Time will continue to pass, life will move forward, things will always change, 7+billion people are responsible for living their lives, and you are responsible for living yours.  If you do not like how things are going right now, be courageous enough to change it.  An amazing life is not given, it is created.

Carpe Diem and thank you for being a part of my first nine years,

Jesse

Remove The Limits From Your Life

WHY do we place limits on our lives?  Why?

Is it because we were told we could not do something when we were young?

Did it start the first time someone told us it was silly for us to want to be a baseball player, a superhero, or an astronaut when we grew up?

Regardless of when it started or why the plague of placing limitations on our lives has consumed most of the world!  It is a plague of epidemic proportions - one, that if not stopped, will continue to destroy dreams, crush passions, and squeeze the love out of life.

Let me ask you this, what will Your life be like when you remove some of the limits from it?  How much greater will You dream?  How many more risks will You take because You now have the belief that You can accomplish whatever You set Your mind and heart to?  How much greater will Your relationships be simply because You have the belief that You can make them greater?

Limitations will keep a good life from becoming a great one.  Watch the short video below to learn more about how to live Your life with Zero Limits.

Magic happens when we free ourselves from the limitations that hold us back.  That is why I am extending this special offer to you to set up a time to meet with me, via Skype, and discuss what your goals are and what limitations we need to overcome to reach those goals.  It is my intention during this time to help you understand exactly what you need to do to overcome your limitations and achieve your goals.

Breaking Through Walls

Hey there!

Hope this blog finds you doing well and living a life you are thrilled to be living. :)

If you have goals, if you have dreams, one of the inevitability's in life is that you will likely, at some point, run into a wall or obstacle on your way to achieving Your dreams.

The walls we run into, or more specifically, the walls we create, can be nothing less than dream destroyers if we allow them to be.

Personally, I have seen far to many amazing people sacrifice to many days, weeks, months, and years of their lives to these walls.

Life does not have to be that way, nor is life meant to be lived "stuck" on the side of the wall you do not want to be on.

To help you fix this, I recently hosted a "Facebook Live" event called Breaking Through Walls.

Several hundred people from all over the world attended the live event, and the feedback I have been getting from them has been fantastic.

I shared with them a simple five step system for breaking through the "Walls" of life, and I want to make sure you have access to this information too.

To watch, all you need to do is click the link below (You will have to be logged into facebook).

I hope you find value in this training.

Here's a quick overview of the five steps:

  1. Identify
  2. Find a Weakness
  3. Gather Your Resources for Before and After the Breakthrough
  4. Take Action
  5. Form your Team/Community

Growing Patience and Making Decisions

Hi,

Without fail, two areas I consistently see people struggle in are: Decision Making and Exercising Patience.

At first I was hesitant to record a video addressing decision making and patience at the same time because sometimes excuses about being "patient" are used to justify indecision.

The reality is indecision is almost never due to being patient and collecting more info, indecision is most often born from a fear to act.

A lack of patience can be costly - think of how much time you lose to stress and anxiety... getting worked up over things you cannot control, like traffic, simply because you do not have the patience to negotiate the situation.

If you exercised patience, perhaps your experience would be a little different.

I hope you find value in this short video.  In it I share some strategies I use for exercising a greater level of patience and making decisions.

Looking forward to reading your comment.

The Holiday Season - Reflecting and Planning for the Future

I don't know about you, but for me the holiday season is a time of reflection and planning.

Reflecting on the year I have lived, and planning for the year to come.

I hope you don't mind, I want to share some of the questions I ask myself to help me prepare for the year ahead.

If you feel like sharing your answers, I would love to read them in the comments below.

I hope you find value in this. :)

Carpe Diem,

Jesse

In 2016...

1 - What do I want to accomplish?
2 - Why do I want to accomplish this?
3 - What can hold me back from achieving this goal?
4 - What can I do now to address #3?
5 - How will accomplishing this impact my life?
6 - Is the accomplishing of this in alignment with my higher values?

I challenge you to ask yourself the above questions and dig deep, especially when you get to question #3.  That is the one that derails most people because they will often settle for an answer like "lack of time, or lack of money."

If it is something you really want to accomplish, I promise you that if you fully commit to doing it, you will be able to find the time, and figure out the money part along the way.

P.S.

I have a weekly segment I post on the 1 Year 1000 Challenge Facebook page where I answer questions asked by the 1000 Challenge Community members.  Would it be helpful to you if I started posting those answers, along with other videos I do here, in this blog?

What do Successful People Do?

I believe everyone achieves a certain level of success.  The key question is what is the difference between people who become successful at being successful vs those who become successful at being unsuccessful?

You see all of us succeed it is just a matter of if we succeed at the things we want to succeed at (awesome family, superior health, financial freedom, living a life full of happiness and joy, etc...).  Or do we succeed at the things we don't want to succeed at (unhappy family, poor health, financial slavery, living an unhappy and joyless life, etc...)?

No matter what we are going to succeed at something, so what is the big difference between those that achieve a positive success vs those that achieve a negative success?

A friend of mine recently sent me a "Time" magazine article that talks about the Top Eight things that the most successful people do.  I encourage you to read it and ask yourself,  "how can I apply these principals/behaviors to my life?"

You will notice that all the things these successful people do are doable for anyone.  Successful people are just the best about doing these behaviors consistently and repetitiously until they become a part of who they are.

I would love to hear your thoughts on what you think of the article?  If you agree or disagree... is there a habit or a thing you do that helps you succeed?  Please share your thoughts below.

Click here to read the article.

Carpe Diem,

Jesse
